80188
Intel 80188 adalah versi 8 bit data bit luar prosesor mikroIntel 80186. Hal tersebut membuat 8088 lebih murah untuk dikoneksikan ke peripherals.
Sebagai arsitektur 8086, 80188 digunakan untuk semua mesin 16-bit registers, di mana bisa pula digunakan sebagai 8-bit register. juga termasuk enam atau lebih 16-bit register, di mana termasuk juga sebagai contoh; stack pointer, instruction pointer, index registers, atau sebagai status register kata,di mana bertindak sebagai tanda(flag),sebagai contoh dalam comparison operations.
Seperti arsitektur dalam 8086,processor ini juga termasuk empat 16-bit segment register di mana dapat mengaktifkan pengalamatan dalam 64 Kbytes memory atau lebih, di mana keterbatasan dari arsitektur sebuah 16-bit,sebagai pengenal sebuah isi offset yang diberikan, setelah disisipkan kurang 4 bits, ke dalam isi dari register lain. Sistem pengalamatan ini memberikan layanan 1 Mbyte dari memory pengalamatan yang tersedia, semua ini di harapkan dapat mencukupi dari semua memory computer yang dibutuhkan.
