Air burst

Ledakan udara atau air burst atau airburst adalah peledakan dari alat peledak seperti peluru artileri anti-personnel atau senjata nuklir di udara, bukan saat kontak dengan tanah atau target. Keuntungan militer utama dari ledakan udara dibandingkan ledakan di tanah adalah energi dari ledakan, termasuk pecahan peluru, terdistribusi lebih merata di area yang lebih luas; namun, energi puncak lebih rendah di titik pusat ledakan.[1]
