Ambika Bumb adalah CEO dan pendiri sebuah perusahaan bioteknologi yang bernama Bikanta.[1] Ambika Bumb juga merupakan seorang spesialis Ilmu kedokteran nano yang memperoleh Beasiswa Marshall.[2] Pekerjaannya mencakup berbagai jenis nanoteknologi yang berguna dalam mendeteksi berbagai macam pengobatan dari suatu penyakit. Penemuannya mengenai Nanodiamond yang dia lakukan ketika bekerja sebagai peneliti postdoctoral di Institut Kanker Nasional dan National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute yang akhirnya menuntun dia untuk mendirikan Bikanta.[3][4]
Kehidupan pribadi
Ambika Bumb lahir dari keluarga India yang menganut agama Jainisme.[5] Orang tua nya melakukan migrasi ke Amerika Serikat untuk mengenyam Pendidikan tinggi di Amerika Serikat. Ayahnya merupakan salah satu orang yang paling awal di keluarganya yang telah menyelesaikan gelar Doktor Filsafat dan ibunya merupakan perempuan pertama di kotanya yang berkuliah di perguruan tinggi. Selain itu, Ambika Bumb juga memiliki kakek yang bekerja sebagai dokter hewan.[5]
Pendidikan
Pada tahun 2005 Ambika Bumb lulus dari Institut Teknologi Georgia dengan gelar Sarjana Sains jurusan Rekayasa biomedis dan mata kuliah tambahan Ilmu ekonomi (minor) di Institut Teknologi Georgia.[6] Kemudian pada tahun 2008 dia menyelesaikan gelar Doktor jurusan Rekayasa biomedis di Universitas Oxford, dia juga memperoleh beasiswa Marshall dan NIH-OxCam Program.[7][8]
