Aphananthe aspera, yang dikenal dengan nama scabrous aphananthe[2] atau pohon muku,[1] adalah tumbuhan berbunga dalam keluarga Cannabaceae. Tumbuhan ini ditemukan di lereng bukit dan tepi sungai dengan ketinggian antara 100 hingga 1600 m. Tanaman ini berasal dari Tiongkok, Taiwan, Jepang, Korea, dan Vietnam.[3]
Kegunaan
Tumbuhan ini digunakan sebagai tanaman hias di Taman klasik Tionghoa. Aphananthe aspera merupakan sumber serat dan kayu, serta telah digunakan untuk pembuatan kertas. Daun yang dikumpulkan pada musim gugur digunakan sebagai ampelas halus untuk memoles kayu dan bahan serupa.[4][5][6] Tidak jelas dari sumber-sumber yang dirujuk, apakah efektivitas daun sebagai ampelas bergantung pada kekasarannya, atau apakah daun tersebut mengandung fitolit abrasif.

The polishing of rough surfaces appears to be effected by the rough leaves of Aphananthe aspera and the stems of a species of Equisetum.
