Assen adalah sebuah kota dan munisipalitas di timur laut Belanda, dan merupakan ibu kota provinsi Drenthe. Kota ini menerima hak kotanya pada tahun 1809. Assen terkenal dengan TT Circuit Assen, sirkuit balap motor, tempat Dutch TT diadakan pada hari Minggu terakhir bulan Juni; dan juga Festival Tari Assen tahunan.
