Musik video untuk "Backslide" diunggah ke YouTube pada hari perilisannya. Video tersebut disutradarai oleh Josh Dun, drummer band, dalam debut penyutradaraannya. Video tersebut menampilkan Tyler Joseph membeli roti hamburger dari toko serba ada sebelum nge-rap dan bernyanyi sambil mengendarai sepeda menyusuri jalan pinggiran kota. Dia berhenti di tengah jalan untuk membeli secangkir limun dari kios, menggunakan salah satu roti sebagai mata uang. Saat dia berkendara, roti tersebut semakin rusak dan kotor akibat badai hujan sebelum dia tiba di depan rumah Dun, menyadari bahwa dia sekarang harus kembali ke toko serba ada sekali lagi, dan menyinggung siklus yang sedang berlangsung.
