Biryawaza
Biryawaza merupakan seorang penguasa yang kuat di wilayah Suriah yang dikuasai Mesir pada pertengahan abad keempat belas SM. Ia sering disebutkan dalam surat Amarna, meski gelarnya tidak pernah diberikan dengan jelas. Beberapa ilmuwan menggambarkannya sebagai raja Damaskus, dan yang lainnya berpikir ia adalah seorang pejabat tinggi Mesir.[1]
Dalam surat Amarna, Biryawaza diperintahkan oleh penguasa Mesir untuk mengambil tindakan bersenjata melawan putra-putra Labaya (EA 250).
Nama Biryawaza berasal dari Indo-Eropa. Biryawaza mungkin berasal dari kasta maryannu Indo-Eropa yang serupa dengan yang memerintah Mitanni dan kemudian, bangsa Het.
Biryawaza menulis 4-Surat Amarna (EA 194-197).
