Deskripsi
Batangnya tumbuh setinggi 6 dan 15 m (20 dan 49 ft), dengan bagian tengah yang membengkak hingga mencapai diameter 50 cm (20 in). Batang muda tertutup oleh pelepah daun yang berserat, sementara batang dewasa halus dan gundul. Tajuknya memiliki 10 hingga 20 daun besar berbentuk kipas dengan tangkai daun sepanjang sekitar 1 hingga 15 m (3,3 hingga 49,2 ft). Perbungaannya memanjang hingga 15 m (49 ft), dengan cabang berwarna kuning krem yang berubah menjadi oranye seiring perkembangan buah. Bunganya kecil, berwarna kuning, dan tersusun dalam kelompok. Buahnya bulat, berdiameter 11 hingga 16 cm (4,3 hingga 6,3 in), dan berisi satu biji berukuran sekitar 1 cm (0,4 in).[3]
