County
County adalah daerah geografis di sebuah negara yang difungsikan untuk administrasi atau untuk kepentingan lainnya[1] di beberapa negara. Istilah ini diturunkan dari bahasa Prancis Kuno comté yaitu sebuah yurisdiksi di bawah kekuasaan seorang count (earl) atau viscount.[2] Ekuivalen literal dalam bahasa lainnya, diturunkan dari ekuivalen "count", sekarang lebih jarang digunakan secara resmi, antara lain comté, contea, contado, comtat, condado, Grafschaft, graafschap, dan zhupa dalam bahasa-bahasa Slavia; istilah ekuivalen untuk 'commune' atau 'community' sekarang lebih banyak digunakan.
