Berikut ini adalah daftar ejekan terhadap daerah. Julukan merendahkan ini muncul karena beragam alasan. Beberapa ejekan memang berniat menjelek-jelekkan kotanya, sedangkan ejekan lainnya berniat menertawakan kota sendiri. Meski sejumlah ejekan menyinggung penduduk kota, ejekan tersebut kadang diakui sebagai hal yang positif dan bahkan lucu. Ada juga julukan yang menjadi cercaan oleh penduduk luar sekaligus kritik oleh penduduk kota terhadap pemerintah setempat.[note 1]
Asal usulnya macam-macam. Ada yang berupa gabungan nama kota dan kata-kata kasar. Ada pula yang menyindir ciri khas suatu kota, misalnya insiden yang pernah terjadi pada masa lampau.
