Escuintla adalah sebuah munisipalitas dan kota di Guatemala tengah selatan. Ini adalah ibu kota Departemen Escuintla dan pusat administrasi Kotamadya Escuintla.
Pada tahun 2002 kota ini berpenduduk 86.678 jiwa. Terletak di perbatasan dataran tinggi tengah dan dataran pantai Pasifik.
Banyak nama kotamadya Guatemala terdiri dari satu dari dua hal: nama seorang santo Katolik untuk beribadah pada hari kota itu didirikan atau deskripsi dengan akar Náhuatl.[3] Pengaruh ini disebabkan oleh pasukan komando Pedro de Alvarado[4] yang menginvasi wilayah tersebut pada tahun 1520. Pasukan ini terdiri dari tentara Spanyol dan penduduk asli Tlaxcaltec.
