Gideon Algernon Mantell MRCS FRS (3 Februari 1790 – 10 November 1852) adalah seorang dokter kandungan, geolog dan paleontolog asal Inggris. Percobaan-percobaan dia untuk merekonstruksi struktur dan kehidupan Iguanodon memulai studi ilmiah mengenai dinosaurus: pada 1822, ia menemukan (dan belakangan mengidentifikasi) fosil gigi pertama, dan belakangan sebagian besar dari kerangka Iguanodon. Karya Mnatell mengenai periode Kapur Inggris selatan juga penting.
