Howard Levene (17 Januari 1914 – 2 Juli 2003)[1] adalah seorang statistikawan dan ahli genetika Amerika Serikat. Ia menerima gelar Ph.D. dari Universitas Columbia pada tahun 1947, dan segera bergabung dengan fakultas di sana. Ia tetap menjadi anggota fakultas di Columbia, tempat ia menjabat sebagai profesor statistika matematika dan genetika, hingga tahun 1982.[2][3] Dalam bidang statistika, ia dikenal karena mengembangkan uji Levene, bentuk modifikasi dari analisis varians satu arah.[4] Kontribusi utamanya dalam genetika populasi disebut sebagai "model Levene",[5] yang merupakan model genetika populasi pertama yang menggabungkan keberadaan lebih dari satu ceruk ekologis. Ia menjabat sebagai presiden American Society of Naturalists pada tahun 1976.[6] Namanya juga dijadikan sebagai nama penghargaan pengajaran di Departemen Statistik Columbia, yaitu Howard Levene Outstanding Teaching Award yang diberikan sejak tahun 1999.[7]
