Hypodiscus adalah kelompok tumbuhan dalam suku Restionaceae yang diberi nama oleh Christian Gottfried Daniel Nees von Esenbeck dan dideskripsikan sebagai genus pada tahun 1836.[1][3]
Seluruh genus ini endemik di Provinsi Cape di Afrika Selatan.[2]
