J. Arch Getty

John Archibald Getty, III (lahir 30 November 1950)[1] adalah seorang sejarawan dan profesor Amerika di Universitas California, Los Angeles. Ia mengkhususkan diri dalam Sejarah Rusia dan Sejarah Uni Soviet.

Kehidupan dan karier

Getty lahir di Louisiana dan dibesarkan di Oklahoma. Ia meraih gelar Bachelor of Arts dari Universitas Pennsylvania pada 1972 dan Ph.D. dari Boston College pada 1979. Getty menjadi profesor di Universitas California, Riverside sebelum pindah ke Universitas California, Los Angeles. Getty merupakan John Simon Guggenheim Fellow, Research Fellow Universitas Negara Rusia untuk Kemanusiaan (Moskwa), dan Senior Fellow Harriman Institute (Universitas Columbia), dan Davis Center (Universitas Harvard) Ia menjadi Sarjana Kunjungan Senior di Akademi Sains Rusia di Moskwa.[2]
