Koroh-emas[1] adalah sekelompok kecil burung kolibri dalam genus Polytmus.
Genus Polytmus diperkenalkan oleh ahli zoologi Perancis Mathurin Jacques Brisson pada tahun 1760 dengan tipe spesies sebagai Polytmus guainumbi thaumantias, subspesies dari Koroh-emas ekor-putih. [2] [3] Nama genusnya berasal dari bahasa Yunani Kuno πολυτιμος polutimos "sangat mahal", "berharga". [4]
