Mangup
Mangup (bahasa Rusia: Мангуп, bahasa Ukraina: Мангуп, bahasa Tatar Krimea: Mangup, bahasa Jawa: Mangap), juga dikenal dengan nama Mangup Kale (kale berarti "benteng" dalam bahasa Turki) adalah sebuah benteng bersejarah di Krimea yang terletak di sebelah timur Sevastopol (duku dikenal dengan sebutan Chersones).
Pada awal abad pertengahan, benteng ini dijuluki Doros (bahasa Yunani: Δόρος) atau Dory (bahasa Yunani: Δόρυ) oleh orang-orang Romawi Timur,[1] dan kemudian nama yang dipakai adalah namanya dalam bahasa Kipchak, Mangup.
Sejarah
Menurut sejarawan Romawi Timur dari abad ke-6, Procopius dari Caesarea, wilayah Dory atau Doros dihuni oleh orang-orang Ostrogoth yang menolak mengikuti Theodorik yang Agung saat ia menyerang Italia pada era 490-an, sehingga terbentuklah kelompok Goth Krimea.[1]
