Marcus Fabius Buteo
Marcus Fabius Buteo (meninggal sekitar 210-209 SM) adalah politikus Romawi pada abad ke-3 SM.[1] Ia menjabat sebagai konsul pada 245 SM,[2][3] dan sebagai sensor, dan pada 216 SM, karena ia adalah mantan sensor tertua yang masih hidup, ia ditunjuk sebagai diktator, legendo senatui, dengan tujuan mengisi lowongan di Senat setelah Pertempuran Cannae.[4][5] Ia ditunjuk oleh konsul Varro, dan, dengan M. Junius Pera, ia adalah satu-satunya diktator yang menjabat bersama orang lain. Namun, tidak seperti Pera, ia tidak memiliki seorang magister equitum.[6][4] Ia segera mengundurkan diri setelah merevisi daftar sensor dan mendaftarkan anggota-anggota baru Senat.
Pada tahun 210 SM hingga 209 SM, sensor Tuditanus di antara calon kandidat untuk Princeps Senatus memilih kerabatnya, Quintus Fabius Maximus Verrucosus. Diyakini bahwa Buteo akan menerima kehormatan ini kalau ia hidup saat itu.
