Misai
Misai atau vibrisa[1] adalah jenis rambut kaku sensitif yang digunakan pada banyak mamalia untuk mengindra lingkungan disekitarnya.[2] Rambut-rambut semacam ini sangat terspesialisasi untuk tujuan ini, sementara rambut lainnya yang lebih kasar berfungsi sebagai sensor taktil. Meski misasi lebih khususnya merujuk kepada rambut-rambut yang tumbuh disekitar muka, vibrisa diketahui dapat ditemukan tumbuh dalam kelompok pada berbagai tempat di tubuh hewan. Kebanyakan mamalia memilikinya, termasuk semua primata non-manusia,[3] terkhususnya hewan nokturnal.
Vibrisa membantu hewan bernavigasi, bergerak, berburu, dan melaksanakan aktivitas-aktivitas lainnya.[4]
