Photinus pyralis, atau yang juga dikenal sebagai kunang-kunang timur umum[3] atau kunang-kunang bintang biduk,[4] atau terkadang "serangga petir",[5] adalah sebuah spesies kunang-kunang. Spesies ini adalah jenis kunang-kunang paling umum di Amerika Utara, dan biasanya ditemukan di timur Pegunungan Rocky. Umumnya spesies ini dikelirukan dengan kunang-kunang dari genus yang bernama mirip, Photuris, yang juga ditemukan di Amerika Utara.
