Robur Carolinum

Robur Carolinum (Bahasa Latin untuk Pohon Ek Charles) adalah mantan rasi bintang yang diciptakan oleh astronom Inggris Edmond Halley pada tahun 1679. Nama ini merujuk pada Royal Oak (Pohon Ek Kerajaan), tempat pelindung Halley, Raja Charles II dari Britania, konon bersembunyi dari pasukan Oliver Cromwell setelah Pertempuran Worcester.[1] Rasi ini terletak di belahan langit selatan, di antara Centaurus dan Carina, dan meluas hingga setengah wilayah Vela.
Robur Carolinum tercantum dalam beberapa atlas bintang selama lebih dari satu abad, namun akhirnya tidak digunakan lagi. Nicolas Louis de Lacaille mengeluh bahwa rasi ini mengambil beberapa bintang tercerah dari Argo Navis.[2] Bintang terangnya adalah Beta Carinae (β Car) atau Miaplacidus, yang dikenal sebagai α Roburis atau α Roburis Carolii.[2]
