Saiō

Saiō mengenakan jūnihitoe, sebuah kimono kekaisaran Heian (pada Saiō Matsuri 2007)

Saiō atau Itsuki no Miko (斎王),[1] adalah seorang anggota perempuan lajang dari Keluarga Kekaisaran Jepang, yang dikirim ke Ise untuk bertugas di Kuil Besar Ise dari akhir abad ke-8 sampai abad ke-14. Kediaman Saiō, Saikū (斎宮), yang berjarak sekitar 10 km dari barat laut kuil tersebut. Reruntuhan-reruntuhan Saikū berada di kota Meiwa, Prefektur Mie, Jepang.[2]
