Sianina
Sianin adalah nama non-sistematis dari keluarga pewarna sintetis milik kelompok polimetin. Kata sianina berasal dari kata bahasa Inggris "cyan", yang secara konvensional berarti warna sian (mendekati "aqua") dan berasal dari bahasa Yunani κυάνεος / κυανοῦς kyaneos / kyanous yang berarti warna yang agak berbeda: "biru gelap ".
Sianina masih digunakan dalam industri, dan baru-baru ini dalam bioteknologi (pelabelan, analisis). Sianina memiliki banyak kegunaan sebagai pewarna fluorescent, terutama dalam pencitraan biomedis. Tergantung pada struktur, mereka menutupi spektrum elektromagnetik dari dekat IR ke UV. Ada sejumlah besar yang dilaporkan dalam literatur.
