Skellefteå ialah sebuah kota di Daerah Västerbotten, di Skandinavia bagian barat. Berpenduduk 35.525 jiwa, merupakan ibu kota Kotamadya Skellefteå, terdiri atas desa-desa di dalamnya:

- Skelleftehamn, 3.058 jiwa
- Bureå, 2.386 jiwa
- Kåge, 2.234 jiwa
- Byske, 1.708 jiwa
- Burträsk, 1.690 jiwa
- Boliden, 1.556 jiwa

- Ersmark, 863 jiwa
- Lövånger, 756 jiwa
Skellefteå dipercaya telah dihuni dari sekitar tahun 1000 M oleh orang Sami dan beberapa orang Finlandia dari Laplandia. Tanggal pendirian kota ini sesungguhnya tahun 1845. Ekonomi Skellefteå sebagian besar bergantung pada industri pertambangan dan ekstraksi mineral serta emas, sehingga kota ini sering disebut sebagai "kota emas".
