Stomatophyta adalah cabang saudara yang diusulkan dari Marchantiophyta (lumut hati), yang bersama-sama membentuk Embryophyta.[1] Stomatophyta terdiri dari Bryophyta (lumut daun), dan sisa dari Embryophyta, termasuk Anthocerotophyta (lumut tanduk). Kata stomatophyta berarti tumbuhan dengan stoma.[butuh rujukan]
Filogeni terbaru dari Embryophyta berdasarkan karya Novíkov & Barabaš-Krasni 2015[2] dengan penulis takson tumbuhan dari Anderson, Anderson & Cleal 2007[3] dan beberapa nama klad dari Pelletier 2012 dan Lecointre, et al.[4][rujukan terbitan sendiri?][1]
