Sunset Yellow
Sunset Yellow adalah zat pewarna dalam spektrofotometer yang berwarna kuning.[1] Pewarna ini merupakan pewarna sintetik yang bersifat asam yang mengandung kelompok kromofor NN dan CC.[2] Sunset Yellow dapat digunakan sebagai pewarna makanan, kosmetik dan medikasi.[2]
Nama kimia senyawa ini adalah disodium 2-hidroksi-1-(4-sulfonatofenilazo) naftalen-6-sulfonat dengan rumus kimia C16H10N2Na2O7S2. Senyawa ini memiliki berat molekul 452.37.[1] Senyawa ini bersifat larut dalam air dan memiliki titik leleh >3000C.[1] Pewarna ini memiliki panjang gelombang maksimum pada 485 nm.[1] Dalam fase solid, absorbansi pewarna ini adalah 487 nm.[1] Sunset Yellow dapat ditemukan pada jeruk, marzipan, Swiss roll, selai aprikot, citrus marmalade, kurd lemon, pemanis, keju, minuman soda, dan lainnya.[2]
