Taumaturgi
Taumaturgi adalah kemampuan seorang penyihir atau orang suci untuk membuat sihir atau mukjizat. Isaac Bonewits mendefinisikan taumaturgi sebagai "penggunaan sihir untuk tujuan non-religius; seni dan ilmu dari suatu 'karya-ajaib', menggunakan sihir untuk benar-benar mengubah hal-hal yang ada di dunia fisik ".[1] Taumaturgi terkadang diterjemahkan ke dalam bahasa Inggris sebagai karya-ajaib.[2] Seorang praktisi taumaturgi disebut "thaumaturgus", "thaumaturge", "thaumaturgist" atau "pembuat keajaiban".
Etimologi
Thaumaturgy (/ˈθɔːmətɜːrdʒi/ ⓘ), berasal dari bahasa Yunani θαῦμα thaûma, yang berarti "mukjizat" atau "keajaiban" dan ἔργον érgon, yang berarti "karya".
