Thomas Edward Hopper lahir pada 28 Januari 1985 di Coalville, Leicestershire. Dia bersekolah di SMA Newbridge dan Ashby School, di mana dia pertama kali mengembangkan minat dalam akting. Dia mendaftar di kelas drama dan tampil dalam produksi musikal Return to the Forbidden Planet.[1][2] Ia belajar akting di Rose Bruford College.[3]
