Tynetta Muhammad (10 Mei 1941 – 16 Februari 2015) adalah anggota dan kolumnis untuk Nation of Islam (NOI). Dikenal dengan sebutan "Mother" Tynetta Muhammad, ia menulis kolum mingguan Unveiling the Number 19 di surat kabar resmi NOI, The Final Call.[1] Ia menjadi pembicara di Million Man March pada bulan Oktober 1995 di Washington, DC. Selepas menjadi sekretaris NOI, ia dikaruniai empat anak melalui hubungannya dengan Elijah Muhammad. Ia mengaku sebagai janda dari Elijah Muhammad, meski klaim ini masih dipertentangkan.[2]
Kehidupan awal
Terlahir dengan nama Tynetta Nelson, Tynetta tumbuh di Detroit.[3][4] Setelah pindah agama, ia bekerja sebagai sekretaris untuk Elijah Muhammad.[5] Di bawah nama samaran Tynetta Deanar, ia menulis di kolom Women in Islam di koran Muhammad Speaks.[6]
Pernikahan dan keluarga
Ia dan Elijah Muhammad dikaruniai lima anak: Madia, Ishmael, Rasool, Ahmed,[7] dan Christopher Muhammad.[8]
