Castries isch d Hauptstadt vum karibische Inselstaat St. Lucia. Si het rund 3.661 Yywohner im Stadtbiet un 16.134 Yywohner im suburbane Berych.[1] Si lyt im glychnamige Quarter an dr Nordweschtkischte vu dr Insle un isch rund 65 Kilometer ewäg vum martiniquesche Hauptort Fort-de-France.

Castries isch in dr Johr 1765 bis 1768 vu dr Franzose böue wore un 1785 noch em Charles Eugène Gabriel de La Croix de Castries, marquis de Castries, gnännt wore. Anne 1794 het dr Edward Augustus, Duke of Kent and Strathearn d Stadt no syre Mueter, dr Chenigi Charlotte vu Ängland in „Charlottesville“ umgnännt. Im April 1796 isch uf d Stadt mit Kanone gschosse wore, un s Fyyr, wu doderdur entstande isch, het d Stadt volständig verwieschtet. Au in dr Johr 1813, 1927 un 1948 isch d Stadt zue große Dail uusbrännt.[2]
