Jati silih sinunggul soroh entikan panghasil taru becik. Taru ageng, leser, prasida tumbuh ngantos tegeh 50-70 m. Madon lumbang, sané aas ri tatkala masan panes. Jati ngelah aran ring Inggris: teak. Aran puniki maasal saaking kruna thekku (തേക്ക്) ring basa Malayalam, basa ring negara wagian Kerala ring India kelod. Aran latin jati punika Tectona grandis L.f.
Jati becik tumbuh ring wawengkon antuk curah sabeh 1 500 – 2 000 mm/warsa miwah suhu 27 – 36 °C ring dataran éndép taler dataran duur.[2] Genah pinih becik antuk patumbuhan jati inggih punika tanah antuk pH 4.5 – 7 miwah nénten kamémémin toya.[3] Jati madon élips sané lumbang miwah prasida ngantos 30 – 60 cm ri tatkala sampun wayah.[2]
