Bridgetown
Grad Bridgetown (Koordinate grada), u širem području ima 96 578 stanovnika (podaci iz 2006.), je najveći i glavni grad države Barbados.[1] Sa prijašnjim nazivom Town of Saint Michael šire područje Bridgetown-a je locirano u okviru Parohije Saint Michael, Barbados. Bridgetown se ponekad lokalno naziva "The City" (grad), ili jednostavnije "Town" (varoš)[2].
Historija
U vrijeme dolaska britanaca je ostrvo bilo nenaseljeno. Smatra se da su na ostrvu živjeli pripadnici naroda Arawak, s obzirom na arheološke ostatke primitivnog mosta preko močvare u središtu grada.
