Darling je treća najduža rijeka u Australiji, ukupne dužine 1.472 km. Nastaje spajanjem rijeka Barwon i Culgoa u australijskoj državi Novi Južni Vels. Uključujući i njene pritoke čini riječni sistem ukupne dužine od 2.844 km što ga čini najdužim riječnim sistemom u Australiji.[1] Teče u jugozapadnom smjeru do svog ušća u najdužu rijeku Australije, Murray.
Rijeka Darling predstavlja najpoznatiji plovni put australijskog krajolika.[2]
Voda rijeke je prekomjerno zagađena uglavnom pesticidima a problem stvara i nestašica vode usljed čega se dešavalo da rijeka skoro presuši. Ima visok sadržaj soli što dodatno smanjuje kvalitet vode.
