General Atomics
General Atomics je američka energetska i odbrambena korporacija sa sjedištem u San Diegu u Kaliforniji, specijalizirana za istraživanje i razvoj tehnologija. To uključuje fizička istraživanja u prilog nuklearne fisije i nuklearne fuzijske energije. Kompanija također pruža usluge istraživanja i proizvodnje za nadzorne avione na daljinsko upravljanje, uključujući dronove Predator; zračne senzore; i napredne električne, elektroničke, bežične i laserske tehnologije.
General Atomics (GA) osnovao je 18. jula 1955. godine u San Diegu u Kaliforniji Frederic de Hoffmann uz pomoć istaknutih fizičara Edwarda Tellera i Freemana Dysona.[1] Prvobitno je kompanija bila dio General Atomic odjela General Dynamics-a "za iskorištavanje snage nuklearnih tehnologija u korist čovječanstva".[2]
U septembru 2020. godine između američkog ratnog zrakoplovstva i General Atomics-a najavljen je ugovor o bespilotnim letjelicama MQ-9 Reaper u iznosu od 7,4 milijarde dolara. Ugovor predviđa isporuku do 36 aviona godišnje.[3]
