Grytviken
Grytviken je naselje i kitolovna baza na ostrvu Južna Georgia (en. South Georgia) u južnom Atlantiku koju je 16. novembra 1904.[1] utemeljio norveški pomorski kapetan Carl Anton Larsen. Ernest Henry Shackleton u Grytviken dolazi 1916. kako bi pomogao svojoj nasukanoj ekspediciji na ostrvu Elephant u Weddellovom moru, a tu je i pokopan.
Tvornice za preradu kitova i baza ukinute su 1966.
Argentinske snage 3. aprila 1982. zauzimaju Južnu Georgiju, ali su ga 3 sedmice kasnije povratile britanske snage. U Grytvikenu danas živi nekoliko porodica, među kojima i Pat i Sarah Lurcock, i Tim i Pauline Carr koji vode muzej, a tu se nalazi i britanska vojna baza.
