Indigo
Indigo je boja koja se dobija iz biljaka Indigofera tinctoria (Indija) i Isatis tinctoria (Evropa). Biljka se natapa u vodi, a zatim se indigo odvaja u obliku pahuljica i presuje. Od 45 kg biljke se proizvede oko 0,1 kg indiga. Koristi se za bojenje džinsa. Indigo-crveno (indirubin) se proizvodi ekstrakcijom u organskim rastvaračima. Indigo-smeđe je nečistoća koja nastaje prilikom proizvodnje indiga, ali nema utjecaja na bojenje.[1]
