James Chadwick

Sir James Chadwick, CH, FRS (20. oktobar 1891. – 24. juli 1974) bio je engleski fizičar koji je dobio 1935. Nobelovu nagradu za fiziku[1] za svoje otkriće neutrona 1932. Godine 1941, je napisao finalni nacrt MAUD izvještaja, koji je inspirisao vladu SAD da započne sa naporima na ozbiljnom istraživanj atomske bombe. Bio je vođa britanskog tima koji je radio na Manhattan projektu tokom Drugog svjetskog rata. Proglašen je vitezom u Engleskoj 1945. za svoja dostignuća u fizici.
Chadwick je diplomirao na Victoria University of Manchester 1911, gdje je studirao kod Ernesta Rutherforda (poznatog kao "otac nuklearne fizike").[2] U Manchesteru je nastavio studij kod Rutherforda sve do dobijanja titule MSc 1913. Iste godine, Chadwick je dobio 1851 Research Fellowship od strane Kraljevske komisije za izložbu 1851.
