Lizin-demetilaza 8 je protein – enzim koji je kod ljudi kodiran genom KDM8.[5]
Patricia Hartz (2008) mapirala je gen JMJD5 na hromosom 16p12.1, na osnovu poravnanja sekvence JMJD5 (GenBank AK225066) sa genomskom sekvencom (gradnja 36.1).

Funkcija
Ovaj gen vjerovatno kodira histonsku lizin-demetilazu. Studije sličnih proteina na miševima ukazuju na potencijalnu ulogu ovog proteina kao supresora tumora. Opisane su i alternativno prerađene varijante transkripta.
