Sol (posuđena od latinske riječi za Sunce) jest Marsov solarni dan, tj. dan na Marsu. Sol je prividni interval između dva uzastopna povratka Sunca do istog meridijana (Sunčevog vremena) kao što ga vidi posmatrač na Marsu. Jedna je od nekoliko jedinica za mjerenje vremena na Marsu. Prvobitno je usvojen 1976. za vrijeme misija Viking Landera i mjerilo vremena koje je uglavnom koristila NASA kad je, naprimjer, zakazivala upotrebu rovera za Mars.[1][2]
Dužina
Prosječno trajanje dnevnog i noćnog ciklusa na Marsu – tj. Marsovski dan – iznosi 24 sata, 39 minuta i 35.244 sekunde.[2] ekvivalentno 1,02749125 zemaljskih dana.
