OceanGate
OceanGate Inc. je privatna američka kompanija koja posluje u Everettu u Washingtonu, a pruža podmornice s posadom za turizam, industriju, i istraživanje. Kompaniju je 2009. godine osnovao Stockton Rush.[1]
Godine 2021. OceanGate je počeo da prima klijente koji plaćaju da posjete olupinu Titanika u svojoj podmornici Titan.[2][3] Od 2022. godine, cijena OceanGate ekspedicije na olupinu Titanika iznosi 250.000 USD po osobi.[4] Dana 18. juna 2023. godine, tokom putovanja do mjesta brodoloma Titanica, izgubljen je kontakt s podmornicom Titan te kompanije, što je dovelo do međunarodne, tekuće operacije potrage i spašavanja.[5]
18. juna 2023. Titan je nestao u sjevernom Atlantskom okeanu kod obale Newfoundlanda. Podmornica je prevozila ekspediciju turista, uključujući Hamish Hardinga, Paul-Henri Nargeoleta, Shahzada Dawooda i njegovog sina Sulemana, i osnivača OceanGate-a, Stockton Rusha, kako bi vidjeli olupine RMS Titanic.[6][7] Nestanak podmornice pokrenuo je opsežne napore potrage i spašavanja.[8]
