Funkcija

Staufen homolog 2 je član porodice proteina koji se vezuju za dvolančanu RNK (dsRNK), uključeni u transport i/ili lokalizaciju iRNK u različite podćelijske odjele i/ili organele. Ove proteine karakterizira prisutnost više dsRNK-vezujućih domena, koji su potrebni za vezanje RNK sa dvolančanom sekundarnom strukturom. Staufenski homolog 2 ima 48,5% i 59,9% sličnosti sa staufenom kod Drosophila i ljudi. Tačna funkcija staufen homologa 2 nije poznata, ali budući da sadrži tri kopije konzerviranog domena vezanja dsRNK, mogla bi biti uključena u događaje vezanja za dvolančane RNK.[6]
