Winteraceae je tropska u porodici cvjetnica u redu Canellales, razred Magnoliopsida, divizija Tracheophyta.[1] Imenovana je po tipskom rodu Wintera.
Neke vrste rods su vrste danas premještrne u druge rodove, Drimys i Pseudowintera.
Winteraceae su zimzelene stablašice i grmovi s arealom od Meksika do juga Južne Amerike, a nadalje na Madagaskaru, Novom Zelandu, u Australiji, Maleziji i Okeaniji. Procjenjuje se da se ova porodica pojvila peije najmanje 120 miliona godina.
Mnoge vrste imaju ljekovita svojstva, a najpoznatija je Drimys winteri, koja bude visoka i do 15 m, a čija se kora ranije uzimala kao preventiva protiv skorbuta.[2]
Porodica ima oko stotinjak priznatih vrsta u pet rodova.[3]
