Strathdee

Strathdee var et Highland single malt skotsk whisky-destilleri i Aberdeen, Skotland. Det var i drift fra 1821 til omkring 1942.

Historie

Strathdee-destilleriet lå på Balmoral Road i Dee-dalen. Det blev opført i 1821 af Mr. Henry Ogg. Destilleriets produktion var på omkring 15.000 til 25.000 gallons.^[1]

I 1895 blev det opkøbt af David Walker, som drev destilleriet indtil 1915, hvor det blev omdannet til selskabet Strathdee Distillery Co.^[2]

I 1920 blev destilleriet købt af Robertson & Co., som i 1925 blev fusioneret med Train & McIntyre. Det amerikanske selskab National Distillers of America opkøbte derefter Train & McIntyre.^[3]

Destilleriet blev sat i bero under anden verdenskrig. Den sidste destillation menes at have fundet sted i 1942, hvorefter destilleriet blev lukket. Det er i dag revet ned.^[3]
