2016–17 New Zealand Women's Twenty20 Competition
The 2016–17 New Zealand Women's Twenty20 Competition was the tenth season of the women's Twenty20 cricket competition played in New Zealand. It ran from November 2016 to February 2017, with 6 provincial teams taking part. Otago Sparks beat Canterbury Magicians in a close finish, winning the final by 5 runs and claiming their first Twenty20 title.[1] The tournament ran alongside the 2016–17 New Zealand Women's One-Day Competition. Competition formatTeams played in a round-robin in a group of six, each playing 5 group matches overall. Matches were played using a Twenty20 format. The top two teams in the group advanced to the final.[2][3] The group worked on a points system with positions being based on the total points.
