The 2024–25 season is the 137th season in the history of Walsall Football Club and their sixth consecutive season in League Two . The club are participating in the League Two , the FA Cup , the EFL Cup , and the EFL Trophy .

Pre-season and friendlies
On 25 April, Walsall announced their first pre-season friendly, against Aston Villa .[ 28] A month later, the club confirmed a further two pre-season matches, against Alvechurch and Tamworth .[ 29] A trip to Ireland was also confirmed, along with a fixture versus Drogheda United .[ 30] On June 3, a fifth fixture was added, versus Solihull Moors .[ 31] Over a week later, a visit from Birmingham City was also added.[ 32]

In the group stage, Walsall were drawn into Southern Group A alongside Birmingham City , Shrewsbury Town and Fulham U21 .[ 51] [ 52] Walsall were then drawn at home against Reading in the round of 32[ 53] and away to Peterborough United in the round of 16.[ 54] [ 55]
