A protégé of Oliver Rowland, Lindblad graduated to junior formulae aged 15, competing in Italian F4 from 2022 to 2023, and finishing third in the latter with Prema. After winning in Formula 4 at the 2023 Macau Grand Prix, Lindblad progressed to FIA Formula 3 in 2024, achieving four wins and placing fourth in the standings. Lindblad is set to graduate to FIA Formula 2 with Campos for the 2025 season. A member of the Red Bull Junior Team since 2021, Lindblad completed his first Formula One showrun in September 2024, driving the Red Bull RB8 in Houston. Early and personal lifeArvid Lindblad was born on 8 August 2007 in Virginia Water, Surrey, England. His father, Stefan Lindblad, is Swedish, while his mother, Anita Ahuja, is of Indian heritage, making him mixed-race.[1][2] Lindblad was raised in Virginia Water and educated at the Royal Grammar School in Guildford.[1][2] Lindblad was first involved in motorsport when he was gifted a motocross bike aged three.[1] CareerKartingLindblad first started karting aged five at Daytona Sandown Park in Esher.[1] He progress to competitive kart racing in 2015.[3] Aged nine, Lindblad was taken under the wing of Oliver Rowland.[1] In 2020 he won the WSK Super Master Series in the OKJ class.[4] Signing to the Red Bull Junior Team in 2021,[5] he won the WSK Euro Series and the WSK Final Cup for OK karts.[6][7] In the 2022 Champions of the Future Winter Series kart race he crashed out during qualifying heat due to contact and suffered a broken thumb and extensive tissue damage.[8][9] Formula 42022In 2022 Lindblad made his debut single-seater racing by joining Van Amersfoort Racing ahead of the fifth round of the Italian F4 Championship after testing outside of race weekends throughout the year.[10][11][12] 2023For the 2023 Italian F4 Championship he joined Prema Racing.[3] Ahead of the season he also joined Hitech Grand Prix to compete in the Formula 4 UAE Championship.[13] In race 3 of the opening round Lindblad took his first Formula 4 win and ultimately finished the season in fifth.[14][15] In the Italian championship Lindblad also got off to a great start, taking six wins from the first four rounds. After winning all three races at Monza Circuit he opened up his championship lead to over 80 points.[16] After struggling for pace at Mugello Circuit he lost his championship lead and ultimately finished the championship in third behind Kacper Sztuka and Ugo Ugochukwu.[15][17] In November Lindblad joined Prema to compete in the Formula 4 South East Asia Championship round at the Macau Grand Prix Circuit where he’d win both races.[18] FIA Formula 3 ChampionshipIn October 2023, Lindblad signed to race with Prema Racing in the FIA Formula 3 Championship for 2024, partnering single-seater champions Gabriele Minì and Dino Beganovic.[15] Lindblad got off to a great start by winning the Bahrain sprint race, where he managed his tyres early on before dispatching his rivals in the closing laps.[19] He scored another sprint race podium in Australia, overtaking Christian Mansell and Laurens van Hoepen but being held at bay by eventual winner Martinius Stenshorne following a safety car restart.[20] Lindblad continued to pick up points in Imola and Monaco before he took his first feature race victory in Spain: Lindblad overtook Mansell on lap 4 and dominated from there onwards, becoming the youngest feature race winner in FIA F3 history.[21] At the Red Bull Ring Lindblad retired from the sprint race due to a puncture sustained in a battle with a Trident car, before dropping from second on the grid to seventh on Sunday in a race where he also suffered contact caused by Alex Dunne.[22][23] The next round became a standout for Lindblad, who first dominantly won the sprint race after taking the lead at the start and then made the correct decision to pit for dry tyres during the formation lap on a wet but drying track, progressing to second from where he would inherit the feature race win following a penalty for Callum Voisin.[24][25] In winning both races, Lindblad became the first driver in FIA F3 history to do the double — win both races of a two-race weekend — and put himself into second in the championship with three rounds remaining.[26] However, this would be Lindblad's last points finish of the season as a string of poor qualifying results at Hungary, Spa, and Monza contributed to finishes outside the top ten. He also caused a collision with Voisin in the last-named round, which led to a penalty that demoted him from ninth to 16th.[27] Despite dropping to fourth in the standings, Lindblad ended the season as the highest-scoring rookie and helped Prema to win the teams' championship for a third successive year.[28] Formula RegionalIn preparation for his Formula 2 campaign in 2025, Lindblad will contest in the Formula Regional Oceania Championship with M2 Competition.[29] FIA Formula 2 ChampionshipIn September 2024, Lindblad announced that he would be promoted to Formula 2 with Campos Racing for 2025.[30] Formula OneFor the 2021 season Lindblad joined the Red Bull Junior Team as a Red Bull-supported driver.[8][31] Ahead of the 2022 season he became a full member of the Red Bull Junior Team.[7] Lindblad completed his first Formula One showrun in September 2024, driving the Red Bull RB8 in Houston.[32] Karting recordKarting career summary
