Brian Havelock
Robert Brian Havelock (born 9 May 1942 in Yarm, Yorkshire[1]) is a former motorcycle speedway rider and is the former promoter of the Redcar Bears.[2][3] CareerHavelock began his British leagues career with Teesside Teessiders in 1972 before joining Berwick Bandits, where he raced for two seasons form 1973 to 1974.[4] Havelock won the National League Pairs, partnering Tom Owen for the Newcastle Diamonds[5] during the 1975 New National League season.[6] He opened his own training school at Workington.[7] After his riding career, he managed the Newcastle Diamonds.[8] FamilyHis son Gary Havelock was the 1992 World Champion. After SpeedwaySince retiring, worked as a Heating Engineer. Married to Marjorie, they have two children, Lisa and Gary. Enjoys competition fishing.[citation needed] References
