Production and developement
The film's production was announced in 2022, originally with the working title Goodbye Yellow Brick Road: The Final Elton John Performances and the Years That Made His Legend .[ 9] [ 10] [ 11] Never Too Late ", inspired after seeing a draft of the documentary at Elton John's home in southern France along with the director David Furnish .[ 12] [ 13]

On the review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes , 75% of 36 critics' reviews are positive, with an average rating of 6.3/10.[ 16] Metacritic , which uses a weighted average , assigned the film a score of 61 out of 100, based on 12 critics, indicating "generally favorable" reviews.[ 17]
