History
After the 2006 National Census, Famenin District was separated from the county in the establishment of Famenin County, which was divided into two districts of two rural districts each, with Famenin as its capital and only city.[4]

At the time of the 2006 census, the county's population was 626,183 in 165,753 households.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 651,821 people in 190,808 households.[6] The 2016 census measured the population of the county as 676,105 in 210,775 households.[2]
