List of Iona Gaels men's basketball head coaches

The following is a list of Iona Gaels men's basketball head coaches. There have been 15 head coaches of the Gaels in their 80-season history.[1]

Iona's current head coach is Tobin Anderson. He was hired as the Gaels' head coach in March 2023,[2] replacing Rick Pitino, who left to become the head coach at St. John's.[3]

  1. ^ Iona did not field a team from 1942 to 1945.
  2. ^ Jerry Welsh resigned in February 1995 due to health concerns. Tim Welsh served as interim head coach for the remainder of the 1994–95 season.[4]
  3. ^ After serving as interim head coach for the end of the 1994–95 season, Tim Welsh was named permanent head coach in March 1995.[5]
  4. ^ Cluess took a leave of absence while tending to a medical issue for the 2019–20 season. Tra Arnold served as interim head coach for the season.[6] In March 2020, Cluess resigned as head coach, having not coached in more than a year.[7]
